MEEKER COUNTY DFL Party to Hold Precinct Caucuses on February 7 IN DASSEL, LITCHFIELD AND GROVE CITY District Democrats to Gather to Cast Presidential Preference Ballot, Select Convention Delegates, Debate Party Platform, Elect Precinct Chairs Democrats from around Meeker County DFL will gather on Tuesday, February 7 for the DFL Party’s biennial precinct caucuses. The Meeker County DFL caucuses will be held at Dassel Elementary cafeteria for the cities of Dassel and Kingston and the townships of Collinwood, Dassel, Kingston North and South. In Litchfield the caucus will be held at the Litchfield Middle School cafeteria for the cities of Cedar Mills, Darwin, Eden Valley; Litchfield, wards 1-5 and Watkins along with the townships of Cedar Mills, Darwin, Ellsworth, Forest City, Forest Prairie, Greenleaf, Harvey, and Litchfield. In Grove City the caucus will be held in the ACGC High School cafeteria for the cities of Cosmos, Grove City and Manannah along with the townships of Acton, Cosmos, Danielson, Swede Grove and Union Grove. At the precinct caucuses, DFLers will cast a Presidential Preference Ballot that will demonstrate their preference in the upcoming election. Attendees will have the opportunity to run and vote for delegates supporting specific candidates or issues to represent the precinct at the upcoming district convention on March 10, 2012. There will also be an opportunity to introduce and debate resolutions for possible inclusion in the Minnesota DFL Party’s platform, and elect precinct chairs for the next two years. The caucuses will begin at 7:00 p.m. Preference balloting will conclude at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Ballots may only be cast in person; no absentee balloting is allowed. Anyone who will be eligible to vote in Minnesota by November 6, 2012 may vote in the preference ballot. Anyone age 16 or over may participate in caucus business.
